I had that C-X16 as my background since the day they revealed it. God damn is that car sexy. It's really understated not overwrought...just classic styling.

You also have the alfa 4c.

Yeah the designers over a jag nailed it, I just hope they don't change a thing before they produce it. Unfortunately I think we are still about 2 years away before it hits the streets. That and it will probably cost 75k. Sexiest looking car in a long while.

You can get a new miata for roughly 22k, even less if you wait til the end of the year

The Z3 was a Miata rival too and was a lot more expensive. I would THINK they mean it's going to be priced to compete, but who knows.

Haha wood is the new carbon fiber.

Actually it was on the car when I built the car, but never got around to removing it. Plus it was half falling off, and went with the shitbox look. It's off now.

Just got back from the LA Auto show. Subaru BRZ had a much smaller crowd than the crowd around the Scion FRS. The Subaru looks more like a production chassis, where as the Scion they are showing is still the same red concept car . Popularity stand point i think the scion will be the more popular car. but the more premium sports car will be the subaru. That is my guess.

That concept FRS sure is pretty though , rivals the exotics at the show imo.

This is why I am pining more towards the Suby. STi version is supposed to have a lightened chassis, bigger brakes, stiffer suspension.

I have no preference tbh, it depends on who can come up with a better deal.
will also be looking forward to the reviews.
the sti version might come with a lot of fancy parts but if they don't offer results on the track it'll be all for naught imo.

really hope subaru comes out with a FI version in the next production year or so.

I think the aftermarket will take care of the performance differences between models a few years later down the road so holding out for the more performance equiped model probably wont be a big deal to enthusiast.

I think the BRZ concept at the booth made the WRX STI not look as cool lmao

it would be a kinda big deal if it were already FI from the factory.
at least you don't need to go through the hassle & expense of getting a whole turbo-kit.

you're not going to be able to push the car's power output without going FI.
that is the brz's main performance limitation at this point imo.

personally speaking, all things equal i'd rather buy a car that I don't need to mod as much.

OK the Jag is sex on wheels. That said I would take the BRZ over the FRS in a heartbeat. The BRZ does have a few design cues I could dislike but overall wins. I just wish it did not come with that damn suby boxer engine. I am another one of those people that just does not like my engine sounding like its running on 3 or has plug wires crossed.

At this point in time if I was going to buy a new car I would definitely put the BRZ at the top of the list.

I am hoping Nissan comes up with something. But I am not holding my breath and I will not be pissed if they don't .

Back to the Jag though. Its got baby Aston Martin written all over it and that's not a bad thing. That car is the bomb.

In all out styling the Jag wins first prize. It's a top of the list choice. Lets just hope its not tremendously overpriced as most Jags are.

I guess I don't share the enthusiasm for the Jag.
Design is pretty generic & derivative, it does remind me of some the Astons though.
Never been a fan of Jaguar, to each and their own.

Nissan is cool, IF you can afford a GTR.

What I probably enjoyed most about the LA car show debut was probably the Ford GT500.
Nice to be able to get a car with 650 hp for under 50k (although optioned out, it will be closer to 55-57k).
The Fiat Abarth 500 & Fiesta ST were cool too.
Cars that I can afford appeal to me a bit more.

I'd like to point out one fact about the BRZ STI...it IS still a concept. That is NOT the 100% production car. There's things I loke more about the BRZ STI Concept too. But unfortunately those are things that will more than likely not make it to production. Like the detailed from fascia and the rear splitter.

I would think the rear splitter may be an option that can be added on. I really hope the wing is something that doesn't make it.

If you are talking about the "subaru" sound, well a boxer engine will sound "normal" if it doesn't have an unequal length header. The rumbling sound of a WRX or a WRX STI is because of the stock unequal exhaust collector due to the turbo placement on one side of the engine.

Because the FR-S and the BRZ will be N/A, I'm pretty sure the exhaust header will be of equal length design, and will sound like a normal 4-banger But you can bet one of the first mods released will be an unequal length header to get that "subaru rumble" sound
