Its just confidence in my work. I stand by my work insanley. if it fails it wasnt my hand.

I took the car for a 4 hour drive average rpm was probably 5k, i was beating her up. Not a single problem.

I will probably go with something like this within the year if I get more serious about the 'time attack' style approach i might take with this current ride.

given ill need to hook up a couple extra sensors , like wheel speed, water temp (which i have in a box) and oil temp which is really cheap for the sensor itself from haltech.

woot

cool thread

fuck dude, what are you CrAzY!? that car has a oil pressure WARNING lamp.

thats serious business right there.

seriously dumb. anyone who gives a flying shit about their car, should have working: voltage, oil pressure, and water temp gauges. this is the bare necessity. if you work on your car(s), these gauges are VITAL.

^ yes. "standing by their work" doesnt do shit. because when oil pump fails, it fails.

honestly i dont understand people that are fine with stock water temp gauge. its insanely useless.

oil pump failure on sr?

ive only heard of that on cars with upwards of 900 hp.

If your using the wrong oil, cooling system is not up to par and your engine was not properly reassembled I could see this happening I guess.

when shit happens it happens. i dont like to overheat on the track. and i can tell my temps going up. with stock gauge its impossible. theres a big difference between my op temp 70c and 90c when it starts to get hot. i will not run the car hartd without proper monitoring equipment. theres a reason people pay good money for accurate gauges.

god...

no gauges on an SR powered car? as in, SR TURBO powered car?

seriously, thats just wrong. not having a quality gauge to monitor the health of such a beautiful motor is just stupid.

should you ever open up an airline, remind me not to fly with you - all your planes will have warning lamps instead of gauges.. hehe

good money, or just a tiny bit of money. VDO gauges are FAR from pricey, i've been using them in all my cars for years with excellent results.

not the fanciest of gauges that ive seen, but very affordable, accurate, and nice looking too.

It was a stock engine overseas.

They didn't come with such an elaborate multitude of gauges. Just stock OEM stuff.

I understand if it's modified though. Hell, I need some for my pos KA.

So if the car didn't come with it, you don't need it?

if you look at a lot of oem gauge setups, many have functional oil pressure/ water temp gauges.

The 240 has an oil warning light that doesn't warn before damage is done, and a water temp gauge that doesn't work worth a damn either.

knowing whats going on is never a bad idea. Not saying you need a crazy amount of gauges like the pic above, but as has been said, even on a stockish setup, having oil pressure and water temp is an advisable thing.
