Will suede wheels tear?

I love the hand-on-wheel feeling of suede steering wheels.
But will the suede tear up if it's daily driven?

if you arent using gloves then you want a smooth leather wheel. the point of suede is to use it with leather (suede) backed gloves. notice how nearly every decent driving glove will have suede palms.

"if i use somthing for a long time, will it eventually wear out?"

um duh

the nap will flatten, and you'll have to stiff brush it to get it back up, and that'll tear it up even more, so ...yeah, it'll get old really fast

You want Alcantara fabric, not suede. If that's what you're referring to that is... (i.e. pro racing use ALcantara).

Super heavy duty, stays cool, great feel/grip.

Oh hardy har har.

So I left a wheel in the oven for a few hours longer than I intended to. So the leather cracked and peeled back. So WHAT?
:-P

cliffs: while trying to restore suede wheel, got impatient waiting for it to dry and stuck it in an oven... too long.

suede won't tear but will wear down like people say

just make sure you dont drive all gangster style

with one hand on the 12 o clock position

then only that part will wear down and then you SOL

and your hands get dirtier too when dailying

It won't tear because it's tough stuff, but it'll end up looking like crap because of all the oils in your hands. Big problem with the e30 M3 Sport Evo and replacements are megabucks.

Just get a quality leather wheel unless you wear driving gloves.
