Cam timing
What would be the best way to correct cam timing, back to stock configuration.
I have a 98 S14 with the KA, so I changed both cams for the exhaust ones from a 91 model. It worked fine, but them I learned about the plugs that need to be pushed at the back end of the camshafts.
So I removed them once more, but for some reason, the marks I made on the sprokets and chain dissapeared when I came back.
I basically followed the JWT cam installation guide, where the dallow pins and slots are illustrated, put cylinder one a tdc (used the crank as indicator, and put a long screwdriver in the sprk plug hole to make sure cyinder 1 is at its highest position), and positioned the sprokets according to the jwt manual, knowing the first lobes should be facing outward of each other.
The problem is that the car is much much slower now, I'm probably a tooth off, how can I make sure the cam timing is properly set or how can I set it properly?
The fsm doesn't say much about that, it just says to make marks, which doesn't help me.
Thanks a lot, I searched but didn't find anything.
