So my tranny ate itself today

All of a sudden it was hard to put into first, and when starting from a dead stop, the car shakes violently. If I start out in 2nd, it doesn't do it. Also, the damn thing pops out of 4th gear as soon as I let off the throttle, lol. Good think KA trannies are a dime a dozen!

Yes... KA, SR and CA 5spd transmissions all share the same style of internals.. Some have different ratio's and synchro's, but they are all interchangeable.

Yeah, We pulled off the bell housings and put the CA Housing on the KA tranny. KA doesn't have the retarded 5th gear ether.

Heading down to Stan's?

UPDATE: So I go outside today (3 weeks later) just to look around the tranny since I am waiting for my replacement tranny to show up. And this is what I notice-- All but ONE of the tranny bolts are missing! Somehow they all backed out and fell off. None of the top tranny bolts are there and none on the drivers side. It's friggen ridiculous. I assume this could very well be the cause of my problems???
