My drivers side power window stopped working so i've ordered a motor. I was wondering how i can replace it. I took off the door panel and there is still quite a bit of metal between me and the window. Any tips?

Thanks,

This is what I did on my 89 s13 to get the window assembly out.

After removing the door cover, make sure your window is all the way down. There are four bolts that attach to the window near the bottom of the window. Unscrew those carefully (you want to detach them from the window) Make sure you don't torque the window too hard.

Once you go those off, you will need to remove two plastic protectors at the top of the window that prevent the window from coming out of the door. One bolt on each of those.

Now, carefully pull the entire window out of the door.

Then there are 4 bolts that attach the power window assembly to the frame of the door. Take those out.

Now you should be able to wiggle the entire track/motor/gears/cables for the power window out the top of the door. Replace the motor and put it all back together.

I took off the door panel and the cables are quite the big mess, lots of tangles (sounded like something snapped when it broke). I'm just wondering if the motor is the entire assembly? This heat is killin me, drivers window dead and no AC
