![]() I am doing a Silvia conversion on my s13 and I am wondering what are some advantages/disadvantages of each of these lighting setups?
I also have some general questions about the lights as well.... 1) It seems that the halogens/bricks are the hot stuff right now but my question is why? Purely looks? 2) If I do an HID conversion on the dual or triple projectors, whats the cutoff like? (mention the brands of HID kits if possible) 3) All three sets of headlights have fog lights built in, how are people wiring them up to the pop-up switch? A how-to link or schematic would be awesome! Seems like it would be a simple relay circuit. 4) How does the projector fog light (triples) compare to the standard fog light (duals) as far as output goes? Thanks Guys/Gals ![]() |

1) Yes. There is no other benefit to the double.
2) Search on other forums. Zilvia is too jumbled to find this info. 3) Search this forum for "fog". See my multiple threads with multiple pictures. 4) Much better in my opinion. Other benefits to the triple in my opinion: a) Separate high and low beam bulbs for more reliability. b) More adjustment to beam pattern. c) More popular = easier to find spares in case of accident. d) Cheaper. Convert all H3C bulbs to H3 and you're good to go. Also don't forget to adjust them to US beam pattern. |

Well I have found most of the info I need, thank sg6civcx.
My main concern was the cutoff and I have found out that the cutoff is fine but is setup for RHD (obviously) so they cant be used properly without either changing/modifying the shield or swapping the projector. Im now really interested in comments about #4: 4) How does the projector fog light (triples) compare to the standard fog light (duals) as far as output goes? Thanks |

Dual Reflector Headlights do not have foglights. Only the projector headlights have foglights built in.

No, what thatGuy said is right. the Dual Halogens do not have fogs. The inner lights that everyone thinks are fogs are auxilary high-beams meant to come on with the main highbeams. Hence people thinking that they are superior to projector foglights, when in reality your just blinding everyone.
The Halogens have much better lighting than the projectors (from experiance), and they use H4's which are much easier to find than the bulbs for the projectors. |

cut off on the dual projector headlights is decent. but remember its for RHD so it flares to the left, which blinds on comming traffic if used LHD cars. and also projectors with the HID kit does not put alot of light on the ground. IT SUCKS. |
