when i was changin my spark plug wires i pulled the number one wire out of the engine and there was a reddish fluid in there which i immediately thought was oil but now im starting to wonder, it was only in #1 and the rest were all dry. is it normal for any type of fluid to be in there?

no, its not normal...you may want to redo your valve cover gasket and grommets...
