For the Troops on Thanksgiving
Thankgiving Day
by: Jake Till While you sit at the table, w/ your food on your plate. Think of the soldiers, that are so far away Sitting in barraks, patrolling the streets While they're getting shot at, you're preparing to eat. They think of their families that are so far away Wishing to be there, this Thanksgiving Day Sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, They're over there serving our country with honor, Their buddies beside them, talk of families and friends How sweet life will be, when the war finally ends Trains, planes, coming back home, A hero's welcome, like the legions of Rome. Arriving back, to relive their life Sitting with friends to talk for the night The war has been long, the price paid, high While we sit home eating, they could possibly die Before you sit down to eat dinner today Say a prayer for our troops, serving so far away I wrote this in honor of our troops serving abroad this Thanksgiving Day. Thanks to the sacrifices they are making we are able to continue on with our normal lives. With that said, be sure to thank our men and women in uniform. Their service to our country is greatly appreciated and has earned them the gratitude of this great nation. Happy Thanksgiving to our Troops |
