S14 Auto problems under heavy acceleration. Cant figure it out!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my S14 "bogging out" under heavy acceleration. The problem doesn't happen all the time but every once in a while it will. It can get to the point where I have to barely give it throttle so that it doesn't bog out. It feels as though it may be the TPS but does anyone else have any other suggestions? The engine has 156XXX miles and has been well maintained. This just started happening about a week an a half ago too. The car is an automatic. I have also searched but unless I search for keywords in the actual thread title (which only turns up about six threads under Tech Talk), I get a blank page!

*Edit*
Its the fuel filter. I just changed mine out. Ran all the air bubbles out and runs fine now. Took the old filter off and rusted nasty ass gas came out. So, new filter at napa is like $10.49. *A |

Get a fuel pressure test first. I could be the pump, an injector, bad o-ring, faulty TPS, the list goes on. Fuel pressure test will rule out the pump. Then test the TPS for voltage. Those are good then check your injectors.

Yeah I have to do that because it seems as though it only does it under heavy load now. Filter did help out but the problem came back, as with '90Silvia. Thanks for the help guys and I'll keep you posted...
