Well, my power window motor on my passenger side is out. I just recently bought a new one and now I'm trying to install it. I know how to take off my door panel but then there's a shell around the part i need to get to. It seems the door is split into two parts and i need to take one off in order to get to the power window motor. Anybody know how to do it ? Thanks for any help you can provide?

This is kind of tricky, but this is what you need to do.

Basically you can't take the metal frame part off the door part (the two pieces you were talking about)

What you need to do is pull the whole window assembly out of the door.  There should be two plastic protector guards at the top of the door that stop the window from coming out the top of the door.  Take those both out.

Then there are four bolts that go through the window that hold the window to the power window assembly.  Take these out carefully and do not torque them very hard as you might crack your window.  Once you got those off you can slide the whole glass window out the top of the door.

Then there is four more bolts that hold the power window assembly to the metal frame on the door. &nbsp;Take those out and you can slide the whole assembly out the top of the door like you did the window. &nbsp;Replace the motor.. and voila! &nbsp;Put it all back together <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Hope this helps,

- Kevin

You can't take off what your talking about. It's welded on.

You'll see bolts coming out of the inside of the door. Your pretty much have to drop the whole assembly then back it out of the big hole near the end of the door. Kinda of a PITA. I wish I had my FSM and a scanner to show you exactly how it works.

Look around the door with some time you'll figure it out. The motor sits right where the manual lever should be. You'll notice that there are three bolts coming from it. Once you take those off the motor will drop. Then you have to remove the lower window arm (don't know what it's called) and back the assembly out.

Sorry if this doesn't clear things up, since I'm at work it's the best I can come up with from memory.

Might be different for s13.
Good luck
