dropped a cylinder rb25det

Ok heres the problem
I hit a bump, and BAM
Shit started smoking, adn through elimination its #1

WHen you unplug the fuel injector it is fine, smoke goes away
plug it in, smoke city

it runs on 5
when i plug #1 injector in, it wants to die in like 2 seconds flat, and will only stay running, barely with some throttle.

all 6 plugs have same appearance
all 6 cylinders have same compression, wiht no loss within 5 minutes of pressure.

i cant figure this shit out.

any ideas?

I also swapped #1 and #2 fuel injectors, same problem
i haevnt done the coil packs yet.

dam that must have been some bump you hit

i say check the coilpack and plug.
maybe even a valve got bent?
that would be my best guess

Why is everyone saying it's the coil? I don't get that at all. He is saying once he plugs in the FUEL is when it starts smoking. Oh yeah, where is the smoke coming from?

I think that there could be a short in the fuel injector wiring and it's keeping the fuel injector on, thus flooding that cylinder and affecting the other cylinders. One bad coil can't do anything to the rest of hte cylinders. And keep in mind that he keeps the coil plugged in the whole time! So I definately think this issue is fuel related.

But yeah, got a picture of the bump? lol

if the injector is just pouring in it will make smoke at idle, like white smoke looks like coolant but dosent smell like it. im assuming either ripped injector gasket or bad injector?

edit just saw you swapped injectors. hmm id be 100% positive its not the o rings, ive pinched the o rings quite a few times, but other than that, what everybody else says

Damn that sucks.

Do a Leakdown test to see if the rings and valve seat and HG are ok. Edit: See you already did a compression check..

When you swapped the injectors, did you leave them both plugged in? Because if the original injector is leaking and you plug it in it'll smoke regardless of what cylinder it's in... Unless you swapped the injector and only plugged in the "new" injector and left the original unplugged on the other cylinder. I would probably send the injectors out for flow testing and ultrasonic cleaning if the leakdown test shows good.

GL dude.

It sounds like plugging the "bad" injector in is whats causing the white smoke. You should find another injector to test with or have your injectors rebuilt with new orings and insulators/spacers.

when i did the injectors
I left the #2 cylinder deasctivated not plugged in so it wouldnt be a factor

But it fixed itself today
i dont know how
But i have 550s and a new coilpack on the way in case.

if a coilpack was fucked the car would run like shit. you should be able to feel/hear a stumble throughout the RPM range. and it would smoke like fuel if a coilpack was fried because its not burning the fuel.
