ford taurus fan... help..

i bought a ford taurus fan and a painless wiring kit to wire up the fan.. well i melted the first relay that came with it.. so i thought i get a higher amp relay.. now i melted the wires.. i use 10 gauge wire to wire up the fan.. and i was only using the high setting...
my question is should i go back and get the fan control relay off of the taurus and try to wire it up that way?? and its in a s13 with a redtop..

you have something wired wrong for sure, I just used regular relays and probably 14ga wire, and have done so for months now. If your melting shit something is wired wrong. you should have a good ground, then wire up relays to the power wires and so on. Really basic, if I can figure it out, lol. I would check your grounds for sure though.

I have high on a switch, and low on a temp t-stat thing that sucks that I got from advance auto. I wouldn't run high all the time, the thing sounds like a tornado and it dims the lights turning on, lol, some serious amp draw there.
