s13 Question about hatch on a 90 240

I bought a 90 240 from this kid. Well he replaced the hatch on it but now you have to pop the latch and lift it up from the outside at the same time to get it open. Any ideas how to fix this. I've had a 240 before but I can't figure why it won't open when you pull the latch. Well thanks in advance guys.

Very common issue. You need to adjust the latch in the trunk area -loosten it,move the latch downward, retighten and check to see if it will open. I had to adjust mine all the way to the bottom of the travel to get the hatch to pop open.

Might also want to try replacing the rubber bushings that make contact with the car when you close it. I had a similar problem, and that's all i did to fix it. i think i paid 5 bucks at nissan for both of them.

Yea

I fixed it. I just jammed it a little higher. It was the wrong year though so it doesn't fit exactly perfect. But it at least opens now. w00t.

Year has nothing to do with it, all 89-93 hatches are the same except for options like wiper/spoiler.
