s14 injen intake install problem

I just finished installing s14 injen intake on my 97. I noticed that there were only 2 nipples for the hoses instead of the 3 hoses ka24de has. one small, 2 big. I first just left the breather hose not connected to anything. But i felt uneasy knowing that unfiltered air was going in there so i made a ghetto solution. home depot + T junction.

Will this be okay? I checked the the junction to see if its getting any oil from the breather but it was clean. Is there are better solution?

Thats the way i hooked up my ebay intake which is like an injen copy. For piece of mind you could put a catch can between the T fitting and the valve cover hose.

My Injen came with a T fitting as well. That will be fine, but if you're worried just put a couple small hose clamps on the ends to tighten it up. Or just put together an aluminum intake box in the spot where your battery is and relocate it to the trunk...thats what i finally did, i never liked the idea of having my "Cold Air" intake running over top my hot ass radiator and sucking in air from the exhaust side of the engine bay. Anyways, good luck!

My ass dyno isn't very accurate, but it does sound a lot meaner when i stomp on it. But then again, i have heavy ass sport max rims... probably negated the effect of the intake and then some. =T

Don't they run the intake to the other side because the maf needs to be more than 11" from the throttle body or it goes wacky?

^ close to that. thats the reason you place the MAF farther away from the throttle body on a blow through MAF turbo setup.

Funny, when I speak out my ass, all I get is a fart. How long did it take you to learn how to do that?

Yay for rice mods. That hose blows out air. It doesn't suck it in.

Uuugggggghhhhhhh.

I noticed that when the breather was left free and not connected to anything, my rpm would drop to like 300rpm when turning the steering wheel without any gas. Whenever i was about to get out of the parking spot, the engine would bog considerably cuz i would be turning the wheel from lock to lock with no gas. (NYC... TIGHT parallel parking) Is there a reason to that?

Why would you start a thread when you already fix your problem?

As stated in the original post, I wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the "fix" that i had and see if there are better solutions out there.
