My brakes are needing to be changed so i figured Id just upgrade to the 300zx brakes. Only problem is is that I dont know which 300 (model) to take the calibers off. The local pic and pull has a ton I mean a ton of 300zxs of all kinds, most not even touched (no one around here drives nissans all are honda fruits). So if anyone could tell me what to look for that would be awesome thanks.

Z32 brakes are what you are looking for. basically 90-96 with most sought after being 90-93 TT 30mm rotors with aluminum calipers after that Nissan went to steel calipers. NA calipers are 26mm rotor size. Some people put on the 26mm ones due to some wheels having enough space to clear the 30mm calipers. But if you chose your wheels wisely the 30mm calipers will fit. I have S14 SE wheels and 30mm calipers will fit. Of course if you with the wheels I have then you are also looking at a 5 lug conversion.
hope this helps

What would be the best offset to clear 30mm. rotors?
Does it depend on the type wheel? Im looking at Rays Gram Light 57pros 17x8 +35 Would these wheels clear? Or do I need a lower offset? Thanks!!!

Easiest way is to bring along a magnet. The ones that aren't magnetic are aluminum and have the best clearance (all alum. were 26mm) and lowest weight. Others are 26mm as well, but will require you to measure them (or at least eyeball the 4mm difference). Do a search. Asad's webpage (which I lack the link for) details the differences very well. If you would, do me a favor and grab a couple 26mm alum. calipers for me while you're there, if there really are that many.

Actually, all the 26mm were aluminum. It's the 30mm variety that changed construction.
