ok, rim size 18/7/+45 offset. tire size is 18/40/225. i am wanting to install the 300zx upgrade brakes, i was told to run a small spacer. now the question- what size can i run and not rub. and what kind to get, and were do i get them.

Not that I will know for sure, but you will need to specify which wheel it is.  The shape and structure (depth of spoke and reinforcement if any) has a lot more to do with clearance than offset.

Other idea is if you still have your stock wheels (do you have an S13 or 14?) from an S13, the seven spokes with the single support bar in back, measure the clearance from those to the brakes, and then measure the clearance of your 18's.  So long as its the same or greater you will be fine since the 7 spokes clear the Z brakes.

Not sure if the 5 spoke S14 wheels clear or not.  I think they do, but I never cared since I have an S13.

sorry for the lack of info, i have the konig tantrums on a 95 s14. they are 7 spoke. i am upgrading the brakes regardless, so i guess i'll just measure when i buy them. also the black callipers are gonna look sick on my black car!
