![]() Hey guys I bought a 92 240sx SE bone stock and I was wondering how hard it is to change the LSD oil. I feel that it hasn't been changed in a while so I wanna know if its hard to change it and if I need to use any specific type of diff oil.

remove drain plug
let old oil trickle out clean up drain plug use pipe-thread if you'd like on drian/fill plugs re-install drain plug remove fill plug add preferred gear oil until it starts leaking out of the fill plug, that's how you know it's filled properly. re-install fill plug some also like to drain the LSD pumpkin completely so you can flush it out with compresed air or you can keep the drain plug open and flush through the fill plug until you feel it's clean.

Procedure is as above, with the exception that I would remove the filler plug first. Don't ask me why I know this is a good idea.
![]() I run Mobil1 diff lube, but I have a mechanical LSD, so I don't have the additives, etc. I will be switching to Royal Purple after this season. Can't go wrong with Royal Purple, Redline, NEO, any of the better "performance" brands. 75W90 for a street car as always, YMMV Edit: Thought I should mention, diff oil STINKS... nasty. Try not to get any on your clothes or self... If the stock LSD needs friction modifier additives (never looked it up, don't know yay or nay) Ford Motorsport makes a good one if you can't find a fluid you like with it already in... I went to an Infinity dealer and got the factory recommended gear oil. It was cheaper at the Infinity dealer then the Nissan dealer. Go figure.

if it is the stock viscous I would simply use some cheap oil. if you will be doing this on the car, you cn use a 1/2 inch swivel for the fill plug. also might need a pump to fill it.

I bought my kaaz from someone that used to work at kaaz usa and he also installed it for me too. I am going by his recommendations on oil. Just so you guys know, there is nothing special in the kaaz oil.
Kendall isn't synthetic and it was at my buddies shop. I believe all motul is synthetic oil so not recommended for a tomei.
