there is a mount that connects the transmission mount to a small bracket on the cat, if your exhaust shakes a lot because of leaks or whatever they tend to break easily, i know mine did.

well i know the hangers, there 2 in the very back, one in the mid back, and depending on the exhaust another one at about mid that goes in a hole horizontally if im not mistaken... but other than that ive always just bloted the piping to the cat with the two bolts, and the piping the rear pip with the muffler.. so theres a mount about the cat? and where else?

there is a bracket thats connected to the cat and tranny. it has like 6 blots on it and like a rubber piece. it should hook up to the two bolts on the front of the cat.

I'll have pictures in a bit.

Mount #1
-Attaches to the down pipe/cat.

Mount #2
-Sits right in front of the rear sway bar.

Mount #3
-Sits right behind the rear subrame/lower toe arm.

Mount #4
-The obvious one. Holds up the actual muffler.

I'm only running with #3 and #4 and have no leaks or rattling issues.

Lowered about 3" if not more, and have a 4 finger clearance underneath.

For low sitting exhaust:

If you want a quick fix or just trying not to spend money on urethane exhaust hangers, get some worm gear hose clamps from your nearest auto parts store and wrap them around your existing hangers and crank down on them. Done

I did this and I don't use the trasmission exhaust hanger. No more low exhaust.

Look at the pictures above. Notice that some of the rubber hangers are streched. Take a hose clamp and put it around that rubber hanger and tighten it. As you tighten it it will lift the exhaust.

If this still doesn't make sense I will go take a picture of my car if I can get to it.

go to a cheap muffler shop and tell them to weld your exhaust as close to the body as they can! or...it could be your coilovers going lower and lower!! lol

trust me, if you do the hose clamp thing you won't have to go to a muffler shop. It will also help to keep your exhaust from moving all over the place when you get on it. My tip is almost touching my bumper where before I could almost get my fist in there.

Search if you don't believe me. I found it on this forum.

Kinda forgot to take pictures until tonight. It sucks because my camera wouldn't focus b/c it was too close. Plus, there's no room in there b/c my muffler is so close to the underbody. Hopefully it will give you an idea though:

Well the hose clamp method works but it's a PITA when you're trying to install/remove them. For the cost, NISMO exhaust hangers are a great upgrade. I've been using them for about 5 years now and they're still holding up really good.

They run about 15 bucks a piece, so getting just two for the first two mounting points - minus the muffler mounts - will work wonders.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=20651-NISMO

done.
