Weird problem,,,,

Ok this isnt a huge problem i think but it is making me think.

Ok when I hit boost hard my temp gauge will go up to the next bar and then back down. It will only go up for a sec or 2. So what does this mean?? I was thinking my water pump was going out or my belt is slipping. Or I just need a better gauge. What do yall think...

Edit: s13 hatch with s13 black top sr if that means anything

they ARE crappy, but it could also be the belt, or the pump cavitating...

chances are its your gauge though..

your voltage regulator in thhe alt. may not be working properly causing voltage to spike at high rpm. use a multi-meter and check voltage at different rpm. are you sure this is boost related or does it accur at high rpm at idle?

I revvd it once and it didnt do it. I have also noticed it will not do it in 1st gear. This is weird.
