Knock and EGT sensors

Ok, getting codes 34 - Detonation (Knock) Sensor and 35 - Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor (California models). Went to check where my Knock Sensor should be, and there is plastic bag material over where the hole is supposed to be (just bought the car in August, and it came with the CEL already on)

Second thing is, on my intake manifold where the EGT sensor should be, there is just a screw in there that looks oem. From a few other pics of intake manifolds + research that suggested that only s14's and California models have EGT sensors, it seems that not having a EGT sensor isn't out of the norm. The problem is that I don't see any dangling unplugged harness connectors for either the EGT or Knock Sensor.
