![]() i did some searching and cant find anyone whos run into this problem.
I got my brian crower stage 2 cams and stainless valves. Installed and all the timing taken care of. now when i went to put the valve cover gasket on behind the last collar on the exaust cam the cam doesnt end there (underneith the last collar like on the intake side) instead the cam goes about 1/2" past that collar. Thus preventing me from puting the half circle of the gasket down into the top of this head... Someone has had to have run into problems with this before, how can i fix this? Thanks |

I believe that is the thingy for FWD KAs, you need to cut that off if you install the cams on a RWD KA.

they send you the FWD KA cams that have the distributor drive slot on them, they tell you to grind that down until it fits.
I just had a customer come in with this problem, they should be machining these things down during manufacturing and marketing them as RWD. the BC staff told me just do it my self, andthat you can make a RWD cam from a FWD, but not a FWD from RWD. so they don't machine them, Theres nothing like having to grind on a brand new camshaft....

i would suggest taking them to a machine shop and having them mill it down for you.
