I need help, I recently switched my motor over into another Hatch. I loaded some royal purple 10w/40. when I started it idle's rough.

Im guessing a valvetrain problem, my engines making a funny noise, it doesnt overheat, it just idles rough. Can anyone enlighten me

bearings? will be hard to diagnose without a vid/more detailed description of the noise....

the engines 38 degrees advanced, its not making a clanking noise, but more like a whinning noise

No, it's good oil just some sr's cant handle it do to wearing in parts,seals etc. Too thin cause it's full synthetic.. U should run 10w-40 non synthetic.. I use castrol high mileage 10w-40 most of the time.. Also u could spend an extra 20 bucks for a bottle of slick fifty..

Can't just be oil. Could be other things
- Vacuum leak
- Ground unattached somewhere
- Injector malfunction
- Off timing
- Maybe things just need to be cleaned (pipes, sensors, etc)

You need to be more specific with your problem for us to help you out
