Reasons for high idle

so i just bought a 90 s13 ans it idles realli hi ...first idles normal than 1500 and now 2000 rpm ..any 1 have any idea

check for vacuum leaks.

What ideas have come up in your research of the problem?

ok...i didnt really notice until now i have only had the car for like 3 days... the only think i can think of maybe something to do with the MAF sensor

check your IACV to see if it clog up. another thing is you could adjust your idle rpm by turning the screw on the IACV. that's what I did with my s13. But also make sure you didn't have a head gasket leak. good luck

Use the Search function and search for a FSM (you can type "s13 FSM" as the search string.)

Also use the Search to find out "how to check IACV". There's a lot of threads with the correct info.

ahh thank u much... i figured it out... the guy that had my car before used a home depot screw were the idle screw went and it just kept moving down...
