but noisy is so tight yo!

Quite exhaust in cali = no ref tickets and no trouble.

Probably not much of a performance gain either.

I'm running.

3'' Turbo elbow
3'' Turbo downpipe
3'' Test pipe
3'' catback exhaust.

on my SR20DET.

I live in california. Honestly my whip is stupid fucking loud.
I DD everyday. I've never once had problems with a cop yet. I have been pulled over numerous times, but never hassled for my exhaust. I live in the bay area, so I'm not sure how the police are in CARSON. Just don't do stupid shit on public streets.

and to awnser your question...It all depends on your setup? ka24e? ka24de? sr20det? rb?....etc.

2.5 is good with N/A, where as you would still have backpressure.
2.5+ on turbo cars are a + which doesn't restrick air flow.

I moved to CA from NY

I would keep it quiet man. CA is not modded car friendly. DO people pull it off? Yes! BUT, they are just getting lucky..

Performance will be up top and losing some low end if you are NA. If its a turbo, obviously we want nothing in the way

my .02

KA's love 3'' and make more power and never lose any unlike most hondas, but if your in cali and you think 2.5 is more hush hush then i could see the pos out weighing the neg.

it really depends on how loud it is and how lucky you are. when i had my ka24e i had a 21/4 inch exhaust with a canister muffler and it was stupid loud. i was pulled over a few times so i slapped a silencer in there which i ended up cracking and blowing out. but while it was in i had no trouble with cops. after i took the broken silencer out it was pretty effin loud cause i blew a couple wels and started to break a hole in the side of my muffler.(cheap ebay shit) and it got really loud and still no cop attention. just be cutty while driving around cops. dont go blipping hte gas. drive like a granny essentially. gl with ur car n hope u dont get ne tickets like i did. haha =)

actually I welded a smaller pipe in the end which reduced the sound a little. If I ran it with out that peace it would be hella loud

STFU about backpressure. Go do a search about 3" exhaust, ESPECIALLY ON THE KA, I'm tired of explaining that shit.

if we're going to argue about backpressure and torque and hp... i thought this was a good write up...

http://www.yoursciontc.com/informati...kpressure.html

as far as your "setup:"
good: sounds dope
bad: 1.) cops, esp in soCal, are going to hastle you. it is not a matter of "if." it is a matter of "when."
2.) zilvians are going to give you red squares.

Cylinder Scavenging, backpressure etc all has to do with manifold/extractor/header design, once your past that point, you want as much flow as possible even in an NA car.

That quote says nothing about backpressure really. It's more of a statement about flow.

You do need flow and exhaust gas velocity. Those are the important things in an exhaust. Not backpressure.
