that swap needs some custom brackets for the motor and tranny and maybe a custom driveshaft not sure check out the hybridZ forum they do some crazy swaps with nissains from VQ motors to ls1 swaps

Use the S12 VG30 Car front crossmember, and new S12 VG mounts, with the Z32 brackets slotted a little.

Rebuild your KA trans onto a S12 VG30 Bellhousing, use the STOCK KA mount and Stock KA drive shaft.

is it Vq or VG your talking bout if VG mazworx.com is the place to go to. they can machine the housing to fit in the s-chassis not sure if they do just for vg swaps but it might be an option and they have a custom drive shaft to fit the z32tranny to the s-chassis thats what i plan doing is takeing the z32 tranny and hookin it up to the sr stronger gears good luck wit the swap

I was about to say...why would you want to put a FWD Maxima engine in your 240?

VQ? FWD Maxima engine? LOL I think you mean VG.

I think the Q's been answered...but why auto?

Its like Turbo'ing a KA24DE with an auto tranny...its just not...the same.

LOL

ehhh... read/research more.

if you are going to go through the hassle of swapping an engine not designed for that chassis, why swap an outdated, heavy iron block VG?

you should have meant VQ30 like you orginially said.

yes, you can swap a FWD maxima motor. you need a few pieces from RWD VQ's, but overall it's unquestionably a better motor than the VG.

and how much money do you really think you're going to save keeping it an auto? in the realm of custom wiring, custom mounts, custom driveshaft, etc... the couple hundred saved at the engine supplier is nothing really...
