Es bushing install

Hey guys. Started the bushings today.. and holy shit.. had I known how much work is involved, I wouldn't have even bothered. I spent 2 hours pressing them out.. until I finally gave in and started up my Bernzomatic. Damn. Sooo much faster. Live and learn... At any rate. I've been reading that some people cut their bushings before pressing them in. Can anyone else confirm this? Or should I throw in some elbow grease, and not cut them??

Which bushings are you talking about? Subframe bushings? or arm link bushings?

I am getting all my rear arm link bushings done soon...

do not cut your new bushings. lube them up real good, and then press them in.

Rear arm and knuckle bushings. Has anyone cut them for install? Yea, I know about the lube part haha.

Cutting them in half is fine, the Whiteline bushings come like that, you just have to be dead on precise. If the cut is crooked they won't line up just right when you slide them in and bind.

Slide the sleeve in and mark it, then use something like a hacksaw or very sharp knife and score the bushing. As long as your score mark travels around and lines right back up with the opposite side, you're fine. If not, keep trying it until you're dead on. The score marks won't be deep enough to affect anything.
