I was wondering what the pros and cons would be on having shock combos. I can get a pretty good deal on tokicos for the fronts and kybs for the back. Would there be any complications for daily driving as well as auto-xing? Thanks. BTW, i've got an S14

People mix shocks all the time, well at least with older cars like Datsun 510s. I have GR2s w/ prokits in the front and GAB SuperHPs in the rear and I must say the ride is perfectly fine. Car seems to be more tail-happy though. Even contemplated putting Eibach Sportlines in the front and prokits in the rear. Haven't installed the GAB fronts because I'm too lazy.

i have prokits as well and after i did the install the car sure liked to rotate, had an alignment done and it solved the problem........but back on topic.......if i had the option to mix dampers or not mix dampers.......i wouldn't do it if costs were the same and whatnot........on a side note, i have heard that KYB's aren't the best around, so you might want to ask somebody that has them

trans - I thought you had an s13? AGXs are great - but I can't say I've heard much good about the others.

I also agree that I wouldn't mix unless there was a significant difference in money. I can't say that I know enough about either of those shocks to guess what they would do to handling, but it will be off balance.

I would believe that mixing and matching isn't so much the problem but rather are the ones your mixing compatable. If they offer the same performance as each other then it shouldn't be a problem, but if one is a short stroke or something different from the other than you could run into some real problems. So I would stick to one whole set unless you do the research on both pairs and find out how they may compliment each other.

I do. They don't make AGX shocks for the s14 as far as I know...
