elbow not bolting up to turbo
ok guys, i just got a gt2871 today i'm trying to bolt up the stock t25 elbow to the t28 and its one of the bolts is not aligning with the hole to slide the elbow on properly. am i supposed to use the t28 elbow? thought i could use the t25. should i redrill the hole on the elbow to make it slightly bigger? just about 2mm will do. lmk thanks

I just installed a GT2871R like 3 months ago, and was able to use both stock compressor elbows (inlet and outlet).
For the turbine side, I have a GReddy outlet.....I didn't bother to check if the stock T25 outlet fits or not......I would think it should though right? I mean aren't they specifically made with the "T25 style turbine outlet flange". Most importantly, do the inside edges of the flange line up (i.e. the cut out area)?

r u talking about the exhaust "dump" pipe, if so you will need to slot one of the holes, the greddy ones fit both t-25 and t-28 b/c one of the top holes are slotted a little..

hmm i never noticed that on mine, and i just took mine apart this weekend because the turbo separated from the manifold for the 4th time.
i know the bottom 3 bolts on the turbo elbow are a PITA to put on though! |

Yeah, I put the elbow onto the turbo while the turbo was off the mani. I can't imagine trying to put it on with the turbo on the mani.....especailly with the GReddy elbow, a few of the nuts/bolts are a pita.

good luck trying to use a ratching wrench on the bottom bolts esp with the Greddy, they are too thick to fit in the space....i just used the open end portion....and there is one specific one on the greddy pipe that is almost impossible to get at all....so i got an el-chepo wrench and grinded it down (make it flatter) worked like a charm...

Stubby wrenches are good for getting the elbow on/off, as well.

I can tell immeditately that you have actually done this before. Yes, that one bolt is a huge bitch. You have to just barely ge the tip of the bolt through and have the nut sitting flush against the flange, otherwise you can't get the nut onto the bolt.
