Well, im settign up my car to be a hot little sleeper, as you can see in the pic, my car looks like a piece of shit. But i am going to get a paint job eventually. Well my dilemma is that i don't wanna mount my guages on a piller, or in the AC vents or on my dash, cause my dash is mint in fact the whole inside is, when i say mint, i mean, It looks BRAND NEW. Well what was i was thinkign was mounting the guages on the door panel, between the window and the cloth material. Mount them so the faces are looking at me. How do you people think that would look...?

Might be kinda of hard to see the gauges out of your perifial (sp?) vision, and any car on your passenger side will see them.

Some company makes a glove box kit to mount them in there.  I am planning on just placing my cd player where vent controls are, gauges where cd player was, and vent control below that.  Easy to see, but hidden from outside view...this is on the s14 though.

Yeah, same things i've been wondering about.
Anyways, i will be running 3 gauges, boost, oil temp and oil pressure. The boost goes on the dash, left top corner (where stock water temperature is) and the oil press/temp in place of the ash tray... but that would depend on whether you smoke or not...

How about this, its really not hard at all, and you can still close your glove box like normal although you will have to remove the back section of your glove box and tie wrap it to a bar thats behind the glove box.

Right under the cd player, there is a DIN-sized hole.  I have an email address of someone who makes DIN sized triple gauge pods, for 2 1/16" gauges.  I have always thought that would be best, but for reasons of electronics, I got a pillar pod for my car.  Most people, sans huge SUV won't be able to see your CD player, nevermind the three gauges stuffed under there.  If you want that guys email address, PM or AIM or email me.  It's all available under this post.

when my KA goes turbo next spring, the guages are going in the aforementioned DIN-sized hole. no clutter on the dash, no pillarpods, no stuffed gloveboxes. speaking of that glovebox thing... that can't be easy to read. it's on the other side of the car and at knee height. i guess it hides the stuff pretty well, but i'm not that concerned... my exhaust and turbo whine will give me away anyway, right?

OEM they were mounted in a DIN panel below the radio.  I think that's still the best place.  HKS, Omori, and a few other companies make DIN panels that fit various sizes of gauges.  The Omori is the coolest b/c it will fit larger gauges (iirc, 52mm) and is even angled toward the driver.

I would go w/ the glove box for sure, cause It is totally hidden then. If you need to look at them just open the glove box. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sleeping.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':zzzz:'> sleeper style
