Ka Sr Z32 Maf Q?

WE are having problems getting our coupe track car with an sr to start. we are pretty sure the problem is the power fc. My friend just bought a a s13hatch with a redtop already swapped. We are going to take the ecu out of the hatch and try it in the coupe to see if it runs. Coupe has a z32 maf, I have already found out that the car will start fine with no maf so we are ok to at least try starting the car. Our plan for the short term was to take the ecu and sr maf out of the hatch to get the coupe up and running, but on closer inspection appears the hatch is running on a ka maf tuned with a safc. as soon as the safc is unplugged the car will not run right. My question is what are the differences between these mafs and what is/is not interchangable? Thanks,
JKP
