lights on dash dont work

everything works like all the messages like emergency brakes, abs, engine light on acc...but there is no backlight like i cant see the speedometer at night...i dont knw what fuse..or the wires..and i heard something about a TCU or something like that...I NEED HELP PLEASE

You sure? It should be right there after you take out the kick panel its about 6" in length and width and like 2" deep. A bracket holds it in place. Unless you just dont have one, look for the plug, should be around that area.

Yes they are known to go out when audio systems are installed from what I remember when I SEARCHED. Its simple dude just buy the guys one above and plug it in.

if you put in an aftermarket cd player, just wondering if you wired up the dimmer wire. iirc, i believe youre supposed to leave it be

it's happened to me before, when grounding the dimmer wire it caused the dash lights to not work.... but cant remember if it was my 240 or another car....... anyway, im sure that doesnt really help lol.

just replace the tcu... seems to be the general consensus

you're not remembering wrong...

illumination wire behind the cd, iirc its orange

pops a fuse taking out shit from your dash all the way to your tail lights, at least on my car

you can try checking the fuses. or maybe the bulbs in the cluster.

I hooked up the Illum wire. Its either orange or blue I can't remember, but it never blew my fuse's once in almost 3 years.

You all fail. S14s do not have a TCU. Looking for it will be a waste of time.

so if s14 dont have a tcu...then well what do i do ...its a 6 cd changer in wired to the back of the car....by the way its s kouki...so now what

If ALL fuses are good, replace the dimmer switch.

I had this problam...It was my light switch..I changed that and I was good..Check it out

check the back light fuse......i remember something about the dash lights cross with the back lights.
