![]() ![]() Hi guys. I was just browsing through the internet (zilvia) last night and I heard some rustling in the bushes next to my room. Honestly I kind of got scared because there was a LOT of rustling and shaking, I thought someone was trying to sneak into my house through the backyard so I quickly ran upstairs and grabbed my brother's 45MM USP. I cautiously opened the door only to see this cute little family of cats! One mother and four kittens. Two tuxedos, Two black cats, and one black/brown striped. What a relief. No Hamburglars!! Now, this would be my first encounter with wild cats, and I want to find these guys a home! My question is How should I catch these cats? They're wild and when I feed them, they come to me. I hooked them all up with some canned tuna fish and some 2% milk from Ralphs market. (gallon of milk was brand new... now half of it is gone!!!) The mother cat comes to eat the food when the food is near me, I even petted her while she was eating. But the kittens are so scared, they won't get near the food unless I move away a distance from them. It makes me sad that these guys are alone! So I set up a small tent home for them out of blankets and towels, and filled up two plates full of more cat food and milk. Hopefully they will feel at home there until someone catches them. Any advice on what to do? Please don't say any stupid stuff, like shoot the cats or hit them in their sleep because animal cruelty is seriously not cool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update #1: ![]() ![]() I set up the tent for them right outside of my room and went to bed last night. I laid one of my t-shirts and then set the plates of food and milk on top because I read that once they smell your odor, then they'll become more used to you since they know you're feeding them. This morning around 5:00 A.M., one kitten was tapping on my glass so I got up and grabbed my camera. It seems like they are getting getting used to the food and home ![]() These little monsters are so cute because they'll always send one guy to go testing waters, and if everything is O.K. then the rest come over. Run and get those little bastards! Hold some tuna In your hand and makes noises people make to have their cats and/or dogs come to them, Like the lip smacking or click with the side of your mouth. They will eventually come
The number one killer! Get some string and make them chase It Into you

well what do you plan on doing with them, dont take them to the pound or anything
id say just put a tray of food outside your door every morning and night for the next week or so they will warm up to you, and you really need to if its a mother with kittens cause you dont wanna see skinny little dead kittens in your yard feed em and wait till they get comfortable with you then put em in a box and give em to a cute girl you find (say something along the lines of "your their new mommy now" she will melt like butter) |

my sister left us her 3 cats before she moved out. we left them in the back because pops is allergic to them. so what happens next? they start poppin kittens like crazy. the kittens are very scared of us, or used to be. i would say just keep on feeding them and get along with the mother. keep feeding and petting her. then later the kitten's will see that then they would probably give in; most likely. they know you got food, they will come begging for it being all friendly and shit.

put a fairly big ass cage somewhere. place shelter and food and water. trap them and try to play with them everyday. they'll warm up. then follow you like you were some super kitty leader. and you have yourself a small kitty battalion.
or leave water out all day. but only bring food when your able to be there the whole time. they will love you.

upon further research i have concluded that cats do eat carrots occasionally
![]() but to say that a carrot is the most common form of trapping cats in boxes is absurd (but ESmorz obviously used a picture for trapping rabbits and knows nothing of cat trappin') |

in that case i think you should just continue to put food out until they all run away or die
then they will just kick it outside and you dont have to worry about cleaning up their shit or having rodents eating your beautiful shrubbery's |

If I could have animals in my house, I would, but not until it's mine.
If you can't keep 'em in your house, I guess just do what a previous poster said. Just put out food and water for them. I love kitties!
