Facking pressure plate

My car has been making this squeaking noise the past couple of weeks. And it goes away when I press the clutch. Never really thought to much about it.

So I'm about to turn on a highway. Pulled out of 5th into neutral, slowed down, tried to put the car in 3rd, and it wouldn't budge.

Wtf? So i pull over, check my fluid level, slave cylinder, blah blah blah, its all fine doing it's job.

Get back in the car, start it up in gear and the car kind of jumps forward. wont stall out but you can hear the clutch and flywheel rubbing and screeching.

It shifts fine on the way home. I let it sit for 15 mins or so, and go mess with it again. Now it wont go into gear unless the car is off.

So I pull the tranny the next day, and I fine this.

Wtf? looks like someone took a torch to it, the teeth sit basically flat now and there are big as grooves in them as well.

So i found my problem, but im wondering what caused this? This is a spec stage 1 w/only 3k miles, Bought it brand new last October.

Heres another

whats the condition of the TOB is it seized, eaten away or does it still spin freely?

The best i can think of is the the PP Fingers heating up nice n hot and causing the fingers to bend when you disengage the clutch

Still spins freely, pressure plate shaved it a little bit though. Sharp lip on the edge now.

im running a spec stage 3+ with the steel flywheel never had a problem.

that looks like the tob decided to go on vacation, the only thing i can think of is that the tob seized and put unwanted stress on teh pressure plate teeth?

edit: ^^^^ i guess i was incorrrect.

there is definatly some unwanted strees being put on those teeth by something

TOB spins. But not even a full turn when you flick it.

I dunno if its supposed to keep going or what. Never messed with clutch's too much.

spec pressure plates are garbarge. But check to make sure that the tob I'd not hanging up on the shaft when you push the fork forward. I use a spec stage 4 6 puck unsprung and about 8k miles later pressure plate was fucked so I now use act

Yea i heard some bad things about spec, the day I purchased. lol

I was looking at Nismo, 750kg of pressure. Is that about what a stage 1 is?

I'm only going stock or nismo because I can get these two in the next day.

Could you repeat that 180ways2slide?

Just removed the pressure plate and clutch from the motor.

Pretty much fuck Spec. Ive put like 3k on this clutch, didn't even have time to wear before it shattered.

I don't want another spec clutch even if I can get one under warranty. Just gonna go with oem for now.

Dammit...I just got a SPEC Stage 3 for a Z32 NA to put in my RB25...so now I'm kinda hesitant, along with a few other stories I've found recently.

Guess I must have been a lucky one then.

Since I've had the same SPEC Stage 3 6 puck sprung clutch since 2003, and it's still fine on my car.

I guess mine's probably closer to the Stage 3+'s specs now, but back in 2003 they didn't have all the "plus" stages.

But yeah, I'm going Exedy hyper single after this one dies on me.
