Nissan liquid gasket
When i ordered my rebuild kit it came with oem nissan liquid gasket the orange kind. i used it on everythign that the FSM(sr20det) said to apply liquid gasket too. I put oil in the motor for the first time since the rebuild today and looks like the orange liquid gasket is not making for a good seal on the oil pan. Is the orange liquid gasket not oil resistant? Luckily the motor is still out of the car so replacing it with a better oil resistant liquid gasket shouldnt be to bad im just worried about everythign else i used the liquid gasket on such as the oil pump and upper oil pan

Maybe I can't read, but what is the problem and what is the question?
I used the same stuff on my oil pan, valve cover, and other places and never had a problem with it.

Is that a Greddy or Freddy?
If it's a Freddy remove and destroy with a BFH. If it's a Greddy remove liquid gasket and use Hondabond.

it must be a freddy mac oil pan... i never had a problem with those orange things either so maybe you did not apply it evenly. Also, did you let it sit and try abit until it gets tacky?

Did you bolt down the oil pan correctly? When I replaced my oil pan, it took me quite some time to make sure if the nuts are bolted down tight enough (did not have a torque wrench). Or you used a freddy pan, where it does not sit flat with the upper oil pan.

First of all, what makes you think the LG isn't sealing properly?
Really, the only thing you need to make sure is that you used the proper amount of gasket in the proper places, as specified by the FSM, and that you torqued the pan down correctly so that the mating surfaces ensure a proper seal. If you followed the steps in the FSM properly you'll be fine. |

The liquid gasket looked all wet like oil was seeping through but like I said it was really hard to tell cause I had spilled some earlier. I guess if no one else has had an issue with it then it's probably fine. I had to drain the oil to replace oil drain plug with a magnetic one I'll see what happens when I put oil back in tonight. And I'll use a funnel this time haha
