feedback on 350z

Gear/shift problem on the 350z

*not sure if this problem only on the 05 350z or any model of Z does it or just a bad luck..

Ok, my friend just recently bought a 05 6sp 350z from a high school teacher. It has 27800 miles and all maintance was done at dealership so basicly the car is really clean and always garaged. But today he found out that the car shifts weird during 1st to 2nd gear and sometime does in 5th as well. So he was wondering if any other 350Z owner on here having the same problem as he dose?

dude for some reason nissan went cheap on the tranny and clutch assembly on the 350z....best thing to do is try to get a new tranny from the dealer(hopefuly its still under warranty)and just upgrade that clutch....thats exacly what a friend did and its great now

05's should be good, 03's were the ones with tranny problems.

very doubtful you're gonna get a new one. I used to own an 08 Z33 and yes the transmissions are def not the smoothest shifting. They feel pretty brutish in all foward gears to me. Change fluid to redline mt90....so much better

idk how that shit ever left the factory like that. amazes me they sent out that many cars that were that fucked up.

but 05's i think tend to have oil burning problems with the new rev-up motor because rings fail some. im not 100% on that though.

the problem is from 03 to 05 im sure but want to know is anyone has 06 to 08 350z and want to know if they fix this problem on the tranny. Because almost every 03 to 05 350z has that problem but not on the auto tho.. my gf's auto Z got no problem at all but only the window won't roll back up again.
