Clutch Master Cylinder Problem?

I hooked up my clutch assembly. I went to put fluid in the lines (filled up the master cylinder) and started pumping the clutch in and out. No matter how many times I pump the clutch, no fluid runs through the lines. The fluid level never goes down in the master cylinder. Everything seems like it's hooked up legit. Could there be something else causing this besides the master cylinder being bad, or is it the master cylinder?

you need to open up the bleeder on the slave cylinder so the air trapped inside can be pushed out.
