I just disassembled an s14 t28 466541 chra and it is a full ballbearing CHRA. The S15 spec-r uses a special housing and inconel wheel. The housing is made to withstand higher heat and the wheel is able to handle higher levels of boost. The CHRA on the s14,s15 and the gt2560r are exactly the same,Full ball bearing.

Bump for the guy selling the s14 bb turbo. S14 aus model was journal bearing turbo. I don't know the part number on that model. 466541-7001 chra is a ball bearing same as gt2560r,t28r and the s15 turbo. You guys read something and you start quoting it. I have taken journal bearing turbo apart as well. Their is no way you can install half the parts from a journal bearing turbo in a ball bearing turbo. You can only swap housings,compressor wheels and complete chra's. The s15 has different version of turbos s15 automatic were exactly the same as the s14. The spec-r has a better turbine shaft/wheel made from inconel and a divider in the exhaust housingand also the exhaust housing is made with nickel for heat dissapation. I hope someone benefits from this info. Also btw you can pay $730 for the S15 spec r on fr sport or west covina has them for $687 both are plus shipping. A new CHRA cost $783 466541 part number.

All that matters is the garret number, everything else just confuses matters

466541 = ball bearing
466543 = bush bearing

for the second bit of the number

-001 = S14 turbo (no splitter between wastegate and turbine exit)
-002 = S15 turbo (splitter between wastegate and turbine exit)

serial numbers are your friend
