X games rider dies after failed backflip

While at the Costa Rica X-Knights, Jeremy Lusk had a horrific crash and has died.

Freestyle motocross star Jeremy Lusk, 24, died as a result of head injuries sustained during a competition, and it is with a heavy heart that The Post Chronicle shares this news. The Temecula rider was transported to Calderon Hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica, after he crashed his Yamaha YZ250 heavily -- failing to fully rotate a flip.
He was treated for brain trauma and required immediate surgery to treat a subdural hematoma on the brain.
Surgery lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes.






Unfortunately, Jeremy passed away in his hospital [COLOR=#0000FF ! important][COLOR=#0000FF ! important]bed[/COLOR][/COLOR] late Monday night, reports Pete Thomas of the L.A. Times. He was reportedly surrounded by his mom and dad, Chuck and Gina Lusk; his wife Lauren, and mother- and father-in-law Lynne and Larry, along with fellow Metal Mulisha riders Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele, Brian Deegan and Erik Apple.
