PHONE NUMBER: 847-732-7696 EMAIL: [email protected] LOCATION: Vernon Hills/Dekalb, IL PAYMENT PREFERENCE: anything but credit card ------------------------------------------------------------------ ITEM: Built sr20...read the details PRICE: 5500 OBO SHIPPING: if you pay DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is a built sr20 motor. This was the motor for my project s13. The project was never finished because im still in school. Senior year as a mechanical engineering student isn’t a joke and does not leave me any time to continue with this. Instead of having my project sitting around for an indefinite amount of time I would rather sell it. The motor was built completely by me. I worked at Bertil’s Racing Engines for five years. Over that time span I have built a lot of motors and gained a lot of knowledge in machining, flow-bench testing, and prototype work. The engine has the following modifications: Block: • Sr20det RWD redtop block • Bored and honed to 86.5mm • Painted “Ford Gray” high-temp. paint • Machined plugs for oil dipstick, heater core, oil/air separator, rear oil drain • Line-honed main journals • Inside of block painted with sealing paint • Gutted front cover (no oil pump) and painted • Blueprinted/balanced crankshaft/rods • Unorthodox Racing crankshaft pulley • Under drive pulley kit • Machined adapter for ignition pick-up wheel and dry sump pulley • Wiseco forged turbo pistons with friction coating • JUN Racing Titanium connecting rods (ARP rod bolts) • Racing tri-metal main bearings • Racing tri-metal rod bearings • Upper oil pan sand-blasted and painted • Greddy oil pan modified for dry sump • All stock bolts replaced with hex bolts • KA24DE alternator • Sr20det RWD motor mount brackets Head: • Ported/polished/port-matched 53J FWD cylinder head • Decked 0.015” • 3 angle valve job • Reground/refaced valves • Manganese bronze exhaust guides • New valve seals • Peak Performance valve springs (gold-colored race-spec springs) • HKS 272 step 3 intake camshaft • Nismo 272 11.5mm lift exhaust camshaft • HKS adjustable camshaft gears • Greddy rocker arm stoppers • Tomei solid lifter conversion kit • Cometic 1mm head gasket • ARP head studs • ARP camshaft cap bolts • Intake manifold insulating gaskets • GTI-R quad-throttle body intake manifold (cut, flipped, and welded to fit RWD setup) • Manifold sand-blasted and painted • Manifold ported and matched to cylinder head Lubrication: • Weiss 3-stage dry sump pump • Custom oil block w/ oil inlet only and oil pressure fitting • Custom oil pump bracket • Oil system set up to use a System1 AN fitting inline reusable oil filter(not included. had to remove to use on another project) Other items included in the auction: • Sr20det RWD transmission • Electromotive TEC2 standalone engine management system • Ignition trigger wheel • All the paperwork on the modifications with all the torque specs, CR, and other pertinent information cylinder head flow bench numbers. all testing was done on a SuperFlow 600 bench at 28" of water using a Mitutoyo Digital actuator/stepper motor controlled by a setup made Audie Technologies. graph: ![]() This is the flowbench data from the ported cylinder head: lifts stock head flow (cfm) ported head flow (cfm) 0.05 47.6 36.1 0.1 85.2 68.6 0.15 96.6 110.1 0.2 114.4 163 0.25 131.7 210.9 0.3 141 233.3 0.35 167.3 249.3 0.4 202.6 261.2 0.45 205.1 265.6 0.5 207.7 267.7 0.55 207.6 268 The motor does not have AIC. It was plugged. The Electromotive TEC2 will be used to tune the motor. To have it idle the adjusting screw on the throttle body is set so the throttle bodies are a bit open. This is a common practice on racing engines. The oil inlet plate that I made has an accommodating AN fitting. It can be used for oil pressure and/or temperature. It can also be plugged if you like. There is no dipstick in the block. The motor was built to have a dry sump oiling system, thus you simply add oil to the tank. The water lines to the heater core have been removed and plugged. If you buy a race built motor it is most likely not going into a car that will have heat or A/C anyways. motor pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
