Brake Pads

It's time for some new brake pads. I installed new ones last summer and 5 autocrosses later I need new ones. I'm looking for something not obscenely expensive, but something better than OEM. My friend is using Hawk HP's on his TII and he is recommending that I get them. I'm just looking for a second opinion. Also, should I go ahead and change the rear pads too? I changed them last summer with the fronts.
btw: I do NOT have ABS.

I love my KVR pads. Got them from Don up at PDM Racing. Really good prices on them.

Personally, I would check out the back pads, but I don't think you really need to change them out. You would probably be fine running them with the pads in there for now and upgrading the front pads.

Sweet, thanks for the info. Those are actually cheaper than what I paid for my OEM pads. Do they create a lot of brake dust?

Yo. I have a set of Hawk HP pads. If you have a 300zx brake upgrade, I'll trade you my Hawks for a set of EBC pads.
A lot of people dislike EBC, based on past products, and now refuse to give them a chance.. but my first pads on my 300zx brakes were EBC Greenstuff. I loved them. Highest Coefficient of friction that I've seen, and no brake dust.
Now I have Hawk HP (recommended by autocross people) and I truely hate them. The bite isn't as good, and they are dusty as hell.
GET EBC GREENSTUFF!

300Z Brakes, I wish I had those. Nah, I have stock 240 brakes.
Jeff - Where's the best online store to find the EBCs?

They aren't too bad on the street however on the track, they can turn your wheels black in a few laps when they get and stay hot.

I've never had my KVR's fade on me, though I find they need a bit more heat than I would prefer on the street till they really bite. Once warm they stop hard. My friend has them with his Z brakes and has no complaints and they feel a lot better cold. Not sure what to make of it.

Other than those I've heard nothing but good things about porterfield R4S pads and may try those next.

I know www.tirerack.com carries them.. I think I went to ebc-brakes.com or somthing like that and ordered them from a 1-800 number.
Be prepared.. they're like $79 for the set. I talked 96SEChick into getting them, and she hasn't bitched at me yet.
Well worth it.. and I got a years worth of life (street/strip racing and nasty traffic) from them.
And.. I don't know what car this is going on.. so here's the link for a '95 SE (I think you have that) http://tirerack.com/brakes/results.j...all&x=113&y=13
