safe s14 sr timing with upboost ?

just wondering what you guys think is safe ignition timing when running 14psi on a s14 sr with t28, 550cc, z32 maf, before i actually go out and drive it

i currently have 15 degrees BTDC which is stock

i have an aem wideband and an afc neo which i've been using for a while to fine tune my afr's, but for some reason when i put in my 550cc injectors instead of taking fuel away, i actually had to add +33% all aroud just to get it to idle at 14-15afr and 11 in boost

the injectors are nismo 550cc that plug right in and have the yellow caps on them

i've yet to do anything and just trying to get as much info in as possible

thanks in advance

I think it might have something to do with injector lag times where safc neo doesn't compensate for it. As far as I know that might be the problem. Overall I would say just get rid of the safc....

Wouldn't mess with timing on piggy back systems either because it doesn't just mess with timing but also airflow to compensate for the timing change. Read in the greddy emanage threads and comparison to stand alones.

Yeah that's true, I also have another car with a s13 sr and i'm running an apexi power fc d jetro in that, its a great system and works like charm. Unfortunately this car is super budget daily ripper so I have to keep it more or less like this.

Btw I've came on to something, I've changed the sensor out value to the s13 sr ecu/early s14 sr ecu (HW-6) and it works dead on on in terms of having to take away fuel for bigger injectors. My ecu is an silvia s14 SR20DET ecu labelled 'N/A', I believed it was a later model s14 SR20DET but judging from the ability to run much better with early s14 sr/s13 sr ecu maf signal I have a feeling it was just a really early S14 SR20DET ecu.

As for the timing, I clocked it back from the factory 15 to 5 degrees for now as I'm just breaking in the motor after a rebuild and driving it easy for a few hundred km.

I wouldn't arbitrarily clock to 5 BTDC, this has a big affect on the curve and firing... Probably plugs will look like shit. probably 2 degrees or maybe even 3 would be more than enough....
