You got to get someone with a hose and find that leak. Lets just hope their is not a hidden rust hole at the lip under the rubber seal. You will need to take the seal off. Look in there and do some bodywork if their is a rust hole. If not, a new seal should do the trick. With a shop vac...and 30 mins and a blow dryer for another 30 mins...you can get that water out..probably starting to mold the carpet underlayment. If so, you should pull the seats and pull the carpet out..so your floor does not rust through. Sun dry and shampoo. Reinstall....after the leak is fixed. I am willing to bet it is there, or if it is a hatch, look for wet seats.

My old car this happened to and I was ****ed. Know what it was?
The drain holes on either corner of the sunroof drain water when you wash the car or it rains or when water otherwise somehow gets in there. it drains through the body and drips out underneath. if you dont think water can be getting in there, check your floorpan. remember the drain holes could be rusted or plugged inside the body somewhere thats what happened on my old car. Theyd hold water for weeks and it would heat up when it got hot and expand and drip.. the smell use baking soda, leave a box in your car. Pull the carpet if needed and remove the seats as bill mentioned if you have AC use it all the time good luck

you can also take water in through your taillights. reason for that is the water runs down from the hatch lid and if your taillight sealant is dried out it can leak through there.

As for the sunroof thing, if its an OEM sunroof I beleive there are rubber tubes that drain to the side of the B pillars.. look to make sure its coming out okay. The only way to find this leak is to remove seats, panels, and take a look and see where the water is coming from. First things first, suck the water out with a wet-dry vac and then dry the carpet.. sun or heater works well. Then do some rummaging to find the leak before it rains again. Have a friend help by spraying the car down with a hose. |
