it was still summer vacation so i woke up around 9am, turned on tv, heard people talking about bombing buildings. opened my eyes, saw buildings smoking, im like WTF. i thought it was a joke, until i turned to other channels and they were all showing the same thing. i had a hard time believing it for a couple hours. it didnt hit me until the afternoon. i STILL cant believe we were (are) that vulnerable.

I remember i was in senior year at school(second period). And some kids got called down to the office, but no one knew what happened. The we all got called back to our homerooms. They told us that a plane hit the World trade center, and everyone thought it was just an accident, and we sat in homeroom for like an hour then the other one hit. And then we were told it was terrorists. Then we got to watch some of the news, then we had to go back to the rest of our classes. I went home after school and watched the news until i had to go to work.

What a crazy day it was.

It really hit home for me, my sisters friend's dad was a port authority cop that was killed that day.

well, let's see. it was my freshman year in HS, and i was actually in the shower when it happened. when i got out, my bro told me that a plane (the 1st one) had hit the WTC, and as he was watching coverage of it, he saw the second one hit live. crazy stuff when i got to school, not everyone knew what happened, and i walked by one of the classrooms with a TV on only to hear that a plane had since struck the Pentagon. i was fecking angry. that was honestly one of the weirdest days of my life. the whole city i lived in seemed dead -- no one was out driving around or anything. still hard to believe it's real

AC lab, labarges room, announcement came on that said "all teachers please turn on your TVs and go to a news channel". turned on CNN and watched, 2 minutes later, plane number 2 hit. didnt go to third period that day, nobody did.

On 9-10-01 I got on a United Airlines flight into LaGuardia. I was on my way to NJ for business. I landed around 9-10am IIRC. Went across the Hudson River and stopped by our clients office worked until 6pm or so. Drove back to my hotel and ate and went to bed after watching the news. Woke up at 7am on the 11th and went to the clients office and maybe 5 min after sitting down one of the managers came and said a plane hit the twin towers..... by 3pm my cell phone started to work again and I called loved ones. The day went on, etc etc. Ended up renting a car and driving back from NY to Colorado.

I know where I was...McGuire AFB, NJ dead smack in the middle of it all. Working Air Traffic Control and freakin sending out all the KC-10 Air Tankers to supply all the F-15 and F-16s fuel when they get to NYC flying from VA on full afterburners. Yah that was a weird, almost unreal day for me specially when the first plane actually flew into our airspace on the way north *2nd plane* Nobody had any idea what was goin on till the 2nd plane hit. Thats when the FAA decided to ground everything and put all the planes down wherever they were at. It was weird lookin at a radar screen and seeing absolutely nothing, just a couple of dots thats circling NYC and Philadelphia *F-15s*

Sleeping when my sis came into my room to tell me a plane hit one of the Towers I jumped up to turn on the tv and saw the second tower get hit. I just stood their shaking my head I just didn't seem real to me cuz a week before I moved to Florida my boy and I were always in that are going to his probation officer at the Fed Court Building.

was gettin ready for school. hopped in the car and turned on the radio, heard about the crash seemed like an accident, didn't seem to big of a deal. Went to school watched it on TV, and realized how serious and scary everything went in a second. Couldn't believe the audacity of the terrorists. The patriotism was moving though, i didn't mind all the USA flags on cars and everything else, just wished that people woulda kept them. i remember seeing a flag on every single car after that incident, it's definitely gone down, we'll never forget!! firefighters rule.

sleeping in my apartment. my friend called me real early and i was about to curse him off when he said, 'a plane just hit the wtc!' i was like, stfu! he said he was serious. well i used to be able to see the wtc from my window so i looked out across the harbor... and there it was, a giant plume of smoke. i turned on the tv and started watching the news coverage. saw the second plane hit from my window. didn't go down to rutgers that day.

2 years later i'm at work, which is like 4 or 5 blocks away from ground zero. i hope terrorists dont try something today while i'm here :X.

no the makaveli theory said he be back in 7 years. so he'll be back in 6 more days. it was either 7 years or however long his jail sentence would be for he said he'd rather die for tat time and then come back.

on topic I was driving the delivery truck when I heard what happened. I was changing tapes and caught initial reports on the radio. it wasnt until later that night i found out all the details and such.

I was the same place I am right now, at work. Of course, no one got much work done two years ago on this day. We set up a satellite feed to our bigscreen projector in the auditorium here at work, and most of the employees spent the day in there watching the news.

I was in class during a lecture, when the professor's assitant come in and told the professor what happened (that the first plane hit). Most if not all of us were in shock and disbelief, but once we got out of class the whole campus was CRAZY. People on their cellphones, others crying, a HUGE gathering at the news center (place that has TV News broadcast), people saying all kinds of sh<i></i>it about a particular race, a HUGE random discussion and people just left the campus or didn't have the mentally to go to class. Infact the professor for my following class canceled that lecture because her husband works at the Pentagon....fortunately he was ok.

MAN...that is one day I will NEVER forget.

I'd just gotten off of work at 6am PST and gone to sleep. FOr some reason, nobody was watching the news at the time..
I ended up getting woken up by the phone ringing at 7am. I wasn't able to answer it, but when I checked my voicemail, it was my then girlfriend/now wife calling and telling me what was going on. At first I thought she was playing some sort of joke, and I turned the TV on as I called her back. The second she picked up, my TV came on with the towers burning.
I took 20 minutes to talk to her, prepare my uniform, and call loved ones, and I then I went back to work for 3 days straight (Military Police Dispatch at MCAS Miramar)
I'm still ****ed off at those ****ing ragheads.

sept 11 was the day i had to go to court for tresspassing some "insane asylum" over in verona NJ. Was it worth it? Hell yeah. As much of a dick i might sound on this, sept 11 saved me from getting community service, however I would rather have got community service rather than to experience what had happened in NYC. I live in Jersey City, NJ which is directly across the river from WTC. As you can all picture by now, I was able to see the whole thing practically from my rooftop.

But anyway, I woke up, got in the shower, turned on the news (I always do this every morning) and saw fire burning from the 1st tower. So then i'm like, o ****, there's a fire in the WTC. So I told my mom. We thought it was nothing, because the News/Media kept saying it was just an acciednt that a plane flew into the WTC. So we went to that court hearing right after I got dressed. We arrived at court, the prosecutor says "a second plane hit the WTC" The prosecutor just gave me a warning, and said to go home because it is a national security issue.

On our way home from Newark, NJ, there's a freeway called 1&9 and from there, you can see just staright up BLACK SMOKE from the towers. I couldnt beleive it. When you're so close, you practically feel like it was going to be the end of the world. I might not be alive to witness the actual "end of the world", but if I was, I'm sure thats how it would've looked like.

Am I over it? I'd say so, but the anger and agony still frustrates me. Did I change the way I live? Absolutley not! If you do that, you just let them win. For those of you reading that are from the NYC area, you'd see yourself that most people still lived their lives normally(after a few months of recovering).

But I dont know, I just hope that I see Osama Bin Laden captured some time in my lifetime.

Damn, 2 years ago today i was a senior at Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA. I was in 2nd period government class when the first plane hit. A mesage cam over the PA and the school chaplin led in prayer. After that, we turned on the TV and watched what was going on. We saw the second plane hit live. Then classes changed, everyone in the hallway and courtyard was on their cellphone calling their parents. Lots of kids parents worked at the Pentagon also in Arlington. I remeber seeing the buildings fall live when i was in third period AP econ. That was real bad. I also remember walking through the main hallway at school and seeing military parents in the hallway picking up their kids on their way home from the pentagon. The school security got real hardcore. The head of school security (actually both of them) are former secrect service so they got real serious.

Damn....that was already 2 years ago....

Wow I read that everyone that was in school was told right away. I remember I was in the lunch room at like 930 and everyone was saying it was WW3 and the WTC was shot with a missle and all these crazy rumors and none of the teachers or faculty ever told us what happened. No one came over the PA system and told us what happened.

At around 12:30ish i think it was I was in photography class when I finally found out what happened, our teacher was in charge of all the TVs and VCRs in our skool and he was watching the news all day and he told us everything that happened.

I think that towards the end of the day everyone was called into the audotorium and told what happened.

It was a crazy day and pretty messed up it was kept a secret in my school but what can you do I guess they were afraid of peoples reactions or something who knows

A huge chunk of my family, and my best friend live in New York City. I had a nervous breakdown since I couldn't get through to them, this included hours of tears.

All I can say is that this day will be in history forever...it's the type of thing you and I will be telling our children, and our grandchildren about.

my friend was on a plane from tokyo to seattle when it happened, and i was supposed to pick her up at the airport (back then i lived in seattle). if my mom hadn't woken up sick in the morning and turned on the news, i would have just driven all the way to the airport without knowing. her plane got diverted to yellowknife, canada, and stayed there for 3 days. turned out okay though i guess, cause one guy she met there lived in new york, and when she moved to new york, they hooked up. haha
