![]() I looking to strip all that factory tar crap in my car but i dont know what to seal the bear metal with. I going to have a roll cage installed in a few months and i dont want to strip the sealer thats already in place. So is there a good sealer / primer that can be welded to.

What type of welding? Stick and fluxcore will weld through just about anything, but its not pretty.
But SEM makes a weld through primer SEM P/N-39783 its usually around $10 a can.
