Car is a 93 coupe... the object in question is on the support rail (vertical) that the hood latch is mounted to (below the latch) it has wires running to it which goes to the main harness that runs across the front of the car...No pics, sorry...anyone got any ideas?

maybe its part of the alarm- locks the hood.

there is no alarm

its not part of the hood or hood latch

Maybe someone wired up a sensor to activate an underhood light?
