are these heads different..

my friends say they think the s14 sr head is different from the s13 sr head, that there is like an oil passage or something on the s14 that the s13 doesnt have, because i bought a built bottom end and needed to get a new HG so i got an s14 sr head gasket im just wondering is it possible they sent me the wrong one and its blocking oil? cause my cam oil squirters are doing absolutley nothing.. head is bone dry

i havent dealt with s14s but i know there should be an oil passage for the variable cam timing and the valve cover is different. Id say over lap the 2 HGs and see if there is any differences

its pretty easy to tell if you have an S14 Head... try googling the images and compare.

That one little passage is for the VTC if its an S14 head. It would nor effect oil flow to the head

Is this a new rebuild? Maybe the oil pump wasn't packed or whatever.

This happened on my sr. Take out all the plugs, take off valve cover, unplug the cas, and just let it turn over till oil comes out.

It took about 45 sec to start shooting oil out.
