History behind 6666 customs/Rocket Bunny?

So yesterday I recieved my shipment of rocket bunny parts. The first thing I noticed was that it had the same Origin Lab production stamp as my old Origin kit. It was a shock to me because I had no idea there was any affiliation with the two companies.. I have searched around and havent found anything. Does ANYONE know? I will snag a pic of the stamp in the morning. but here is a shot of-the inspection before the freight guy left.

extremely happy with the quality.. i mocked a fender up today and its just fell right into place. very very high quality stuff! My 2400$ invoice can vouch for it.

Most Japanese branded aero parts are made in the same factory. Just how the (business) world works.

Nah TougeFactory is a lot cheaper for the whole set. THey also have some instock as well.... Will be ordering mine in the summer.

TRA-Kyoto is a design house, not a manufacturing house....

It could be that, or it could be that they are the same company just different badge (Nissan/Infinity). The only reason I believe this is likely is because of the names/logos. Considering this company is called Rocket Bunny, and origin-lab has a logo of a bunny head. I couldn't find a logo for RB though, besides the 6666.

TRA-Kyoto is the company. 6666 (GT Rodeo) is actually the line of this kit, Rocket Bunny is a line for kei cars. So everyone calling it Rocket Bunny is wrong.

Makes complete sense. when I looked into it I didnt find anything. Thanks a lot. My phone was dead when I took my parts to the shop but it says mould no.1 production no.10 10-10-11 for the date. . And for the price. It wasnt bad that included full kit, front fenders, rear overs, wing, and shipping. Enjuku was who I ordered from. Gave me a good price. all orders came feom touge factory anyway. Thanks guys

Why does the TRA S14 shop car have "Rocket Bunny" on the side then?

Surely it makes sense to market your company on the side of your demo vehicles.

This page has the full name of the kit on it.

http://www.tra-kyoto.com/6666/s14/s14.htm

It has Goodyear on the back; doesn't make it a Goodyear kit!

Checking out the Rocket Bunny section of their site:

http://www.tra-kyoto.com/aero/aero.htm

Rocket Bunny is just what people started calling the S-chassis kits because its Japanese and quirky (and a whole lot easier to say than Four Six Customs GT Rodeo Special). It stuck, and has become commonplace.

Even the official distributors call the kits Rocket Bunny kits, but its only because that's become the accepted name.

While on my Japan trip about 3 years ago I met the people who designed ings +1 down in Osaka near Suzuka race way. They asked if I knew the company TRA-Kyoto and they were kinda the first to start creating crazy kits for Kei Cars. I said I only knew their 240 lines. THey are pretty famous around the kit industry. All handlaid and not sprayed fiber like the cheaper companies.... At least that was what Ings+1 said.... But yeah not many kits are made in Japan any more period. China is just too cheap to produce these things....

About the time I met these guys, before they were known outside Japan....

TRA stands for something....

like i stated before, they dont make a GT Rodeo rear fender for the s13 hatch. just the coupes and s14s. if they do, they couldnt get me any.

i wanted an original setup. although not a huge fan of sil-eighty style 240s, i chose to go with it and see how it comes out. at least i managed perfect brick headlights for 250 bucks and a good gtr grill. like i said. i didnt want the typical hatch kit with gaint overs. if i dont like the way it flows with the whole car, it wont be hard to sell.... im not a fan of build threads but ill post pics when the car is completed. im on 45 days of leave so ive been doin work.

oh. the rear overs are origins 30mm. takadashi (sp?) fender pull fenders. appropriate enough. at least they were made in the same factory haha

Few retailers around the country like touge factory are stocking them, so you don't have to order direct from the manuf.

you probably did order straight from manuf, therefore it had to be made to order.

Enjuku also stocks them for a better listed price than TougeFactory. Although I'm on a waiting list with Enjuku until their next shipment, that date I do not know.
