Oil Pan Coolant Leak?? Hellllp pleasee
Ive posted before about a coolant leak but here it goes again.
The U Shaped hose behind the thermostat was leaking, Replaced it! Waterpump = Bad. Replaced it! Did a coolant flush and now something else is leaking! I drove it around for like 5 minutes before it started to oveheat again, drove it home, checked under the car and there seems to coolant coming out of something i have no idea what it is. I Only know its right next to the oil pan, underneath the alternator. im lost!! what eles should i do?!?! im running low on money and i just want to fix it. Ka24e btw. Also, pevious owner gave me the car with no fan whatsoever but a CX racing aluminum radiator is installed so its supposed to stay cool still right??? i need it for a DD and im very frustrated. Someone Help!!!! http://media.photobucket.com/image/r...a/IMG_4282.jpg Not my Picture but In the PIc the part im talking about is right underneath the alternator. |

Pull the intake manifold and replace ALL the coolant hoses under there. If one is bad and rotted, all of them are probably bad too.
You need a fan, atleast slap the stock fan on with the shroud. |

Check all your coolant lines, like fliprayzin said, make sure they aren't leaking and are tightened down. Check to make sure the thermostat housing isn't leaking. You'll definitely need a radiator fan, or else you'll overheat. The fan shroud will help a lot too.

Check your freeze plugs on the side of the block. There.should be 3 on the intake side of the block and 2 on the exhaust side. If you need a picture. Google ka24e freeze plug images. Common problem. If it is that. Replace with brass freeze plugs. Google how to replace freeze plugs on ka24e there's a bunch of how to's

Also, I know its not really in the area you are talking about but check if the weep hole on the water pump is leaking. I thought my seal for my thermostat was bad and I ended up re-doing it multiple times until I figured out it was the water pump.

Got it! Turns out it wasnt that part i was talking about, i replaced the thermostat and the gasket it for it. No more leaks, but the ushaped hose behind the thermostat is a little loose and drips a tiny bit of coolant so got to get in there again. Also, anyone recommend any good electric fans? i read about the altima e fans but i was kinda looking towards a Taurus fan but i heard there not compatible with an s13?
