never heard of fake bov's? lol sorry to hear bout that bro.
well I did a little bit of research and they compared a counterfeit with a real one and on the bottom the counterfeit had a silver valve seal ring while the real ones had gold valve seal ring. GReddy

mine has a gold seal ring.. ill post up pics of it in a bit
